Psoriaguy here! Are you tired of dealing with an itchy, flaky scalp due to psoriasis? We feel you. It can be tough to find products that actually provide relief, but have you tried using natural oils to soothe your scalp?
This DIY treatment combines the hydrating properties of coconut oil with the nourishing benefits of marula oil and the antimicrobial power of tea tree oil to create a triple threat against pesky psoriasis. Plus, it's super easy to make at home with just a few ingredients.
Here's what you'll need:
2 tablespoons coconut oil
1 tablespoon marula oil (if you don't have any marula on hand, feel free to swap it with a different carrier oil such as argan, grapeseed, jojoba, olive, etc.)
3-5 drops tea tree oil
Glass jar or container
To make the treatment, start by melting the coconut oil in a microwave-safe container for a few seconds (it is usually solid at room temperature, but just barely). Take it out and mix the coconut oil, marula oil, and tea tree oil together in a glass jar or container. Massage the mixture into your scalp, making sure to cover all areas. Leave the treatment on for at least an hour, or even overnight if you can. Rinse out with a dye-free fragrance-free shampoo and conditioner.
Use this treatment two to three times a week to see an improvement in the appearance of your scalp. The combination of coconut oil, marula oil, and tea tree oil will help moisturize, nourish, and purify the skin, providing much-needed relief from the itching and flakiness caused by psoriasis.
Give it a try and let us know how it works for you!
