DIY Skincare Hacks: How to Make Your Own Gentle Cleanser for Psoriasis-Prone Skin

Updated: May 17, 2023

Psoriaguy here! Are you tired of spending a ton of money on gentle cleansers for your psoriasis-prone skin? Well, have no fear, because today we're going to talk about some easy DIY skincare hacks for making your own gentle cleanser at home.

First things first, let's gather our ingredients. You'll need:

  • 1/8 cup of Castile soap (this is a super gentle, plant-based soap that's perfect for sensitive skin. It's also pretty cheap, so count that as a win)

  • 1/8 cup of distilled water (also very cheap!)

  • 1/2 tablespoon of honey (not only is honey a natural antibacterial, it's also super moisturizing)

  • Optional: 2-4 drops of one of our recommended essential oils (tea tree oil is pretty solid for psoriasis, bergamot is good too. Lavender is nice if you want a more relaxing scent without further irritating your face)

Now that we've got everything we need, let's get started! Simply mix all of the ingredients together in a small bowl or jar. If you're using a jar, make sure to shake it well before each use to ensure everything is well-combined. Oh, and this recipe can easily be doubled for a larger batch.

To use, simply apply a small amount of the cleanser to your face (using a cotton pad or your fingertips), and gently massage it into your skin. Rinse off with lukewarm water and pat your face dry with a clean towel.

That's it! This homemade gentle cleanser is super simple to make, and it's packed with all-natural ingredients that will nourish and moisturize your itchy, scaly skin.
