In this post, we'll show you how to make a homemade moisturizing cream using ingredients that have been shown to be beneficial for psoriasis warriors.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup shea butter

  • 2 tbsp coconut oil

  • 1 tbsp argan oil

  • 1 tbsp grapeseed oil

  • 1/2 tsp vitamin E oil (optional)

  • 1/4 tsp vitamin D oil (optional)

  • 4 drops tea tree essential oil (optional)

  • 4 drop lavender essential oil (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Melt the shea butter in a double boiler

  2. Add the coconut oil to the melted shea butter and stir until combined

  3. Next, add the argan and grapeseed oil to the mixture and stir until well combined

  4. Add the vitamin E and/or vitamin D oils and stir

  5. Remove the mixture from heat and add the tea tree and lavender essential oils

  6. Pour the mixture into a medium-sized mixing bowl and refrigerate until solid

  7. Once solid, remove the mixture from the refrigerator and whip it using a hand-held mixer on medium speed

  8. Scoop the whipped cream into a wide-mouth container or mason jar for use

Shea butter and coconut oil are both great moisturizers that can help soothe dry, irritated skin. Argan and grapeseed oil are both rich in vitamins and minerals that can nourish and protect the skin, while tea tree and lavender essential oils have antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce the symptoms of psoriasis. Also, they smell really good without the need for artificial fragrances!

If you don't have argan oil or grapeseed oil on hand, feel free to replace with another carrier oil, such as marula, jojoba, olive, etc. You may also swap out the tea tree and lavender oils for other anti-inflammatory essential oils, such as geranium, black seed, and peppermint. The recipe can also easily be doubled for a larger batch.

This homemade moisturizing cream can be applied to the affected areas as needed throughout the day. It is gentle enough to use on a daily basis, and the ingredients are easily accessible and affordable. By making your own skincare products, you can have peace of mind knowing exactly what you're putting on your skin and avoid harsh chemicals that can cause further irritation.
